- me: What are you doing up?
- the boy: I'm all done sleeping. It's light outside.
- me: No, it's nightime. Come on, let's go back to bed.
- the boy: I have to poop.
- me: (after an unsuccessful poop attempt) it's time to stay in bed now.
- the boy: I'm thirsty... (and so on)
