Unusual Diego Rivera Work Restored in Mexico City - In Mexico City, Diego Rivera did far more than just paint. He collected pre-Hispanic pottery and indigenous folk art. And he experimented with sculpture and architecture. Between 1950 and 1952, Rivera built a giant tiled fountain to the Aztec rain god Tlaloc as part of an overhaul of Mexico City’s municipal water system.

Lately I’ve started to notice that the snack he has left over is not the snack I sent him with in the morning.
Can’t decide whether to guzzle or chew your dessert? Here’s a delicious compromise. A total cheater adulterated box cake that kicks ASS.
Here it is,straight from my mom’s e-mail:
“1 box Duncan Heinz butter recipe yellow cake mix, 1 small box instant chocolate pudding, 4 eggs (the box recipe calls for 3, but I add one more) 2/3 cup strong coffee, 1/4 cup Kahlua, 1/4 cup vokka. Mix all ingredients well, put into greased and floured tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until done—-oh, I also put finely chopped pecans in the bottom of the tube pan before pouring the batter in. Invert on plate when done. Glaze—-in a small saucepan, melt 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup water and 1 cup sugar. Simmer 5 minutes. Add 1/4 cup rum and drizzle on cake.”
It’s even better the next day — moist beyond belief. Unsane. Not too sweet either, believe it or not.
Here’s a link to a similar delicious recipe http://www.bakeorbreak.com/2006/12/rum-cake/
Now I’m gonna see if I can make it through the prep-work and baking without falling down…
Mmmmm… Boozy-coffee-cakey goodness

“pro-life” Rep. In a new study, David Gal and Derek Rucker from Northwestern University have found that when people’s confidence in their beliefs is shaken, they become stronger advocates for those beliefs.

To Find Happiness, Forget About Passion -
Happiness comes from the intersection of what you love, what you’re good at, and what the world needs. We’ve been told time and again to keep finding the first. Our schools helped developed the second. It’s time we put more thought on the third.
